About this Event

Iron Maiden’s journey through time and sound

The latest Iron Maiden Australian tour will kick off in Perth at the RAC Arena on Sunday, September 1, followed by a thunderous night at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Wednesday, September 4. Melbourne will witness two back-to-back nights of metal magic at the Rod Laver Arena on Friday, September 6, and Saturday, September 7.

The Brisbane Entertainment Centre will be shaking on Tuesday, September 10, before Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena reverberates with Maiden’s power on Thursday, September 12. The tour will culminate in Auckland, New Zealand, at the Spark Arena on Monday, September 16, promising a finale that will echo in the annals of rock history.

The stage production for The Future Past Tour has been hailed as one of the most spectacular in the band’s storied career. From the moment the first note strikes, fans are catapulted into a world of crazy visuals, pulsating lights, and the raw, unbridled energy that is quintessentially Iron Maiden. The band’s iconic mascot, Eddie, looms large, a menacing yet beloved figure that has become synonymous with the band’s identity.

Who will be supporting Iron Maiden on their Australian tour?

Joining Iron Maiden on this musical odyssey is the acclaimed metal band Killswitch Engage, whose blistering performances and fierce energy are the perfect prelude to the headlining act. Killswitch Engage’s sixth album, ‘Disarm The Descent’, sees the return of ex-vocalist Jesse Leach, and a reboot of their signature blend of sky-scraping melodies, punk grit, and savage thrash. This colossal return to form came at a time of nail-biting stakes, and upon its release, Metal Hammer called it “the most important album that the Massachusetts quintet have ever made.”

For Jesse, the album represented a second chance. The singer, who had battled severe depression when he left Killswitch in 2002, spent a decade working various jobs – from bartending and paralegal work to assisting in a bakery and woodcutting. During this period, he dabbled in and out of music, forming the groove-rock band Seemless and the hardcore/metalcore hybrid The Empire Shall Fall. However, it was his collaboration with Adam on the metal side-project Times Of Grace in 2011 that reignited his passion for music. This experience made him realise how much he missed making music his primary focus. So fans of the “old” Killswitch Engage can see Jesse once again on the fold for the Australian Iron Maiden tour in 2024!

Iron Maiden celebrates their timeless classics and some hidden gems

During the band’s 2023 performances, the nine-minute historical saga ‘Alexander the Great’ is a cherished addition to Maiden’s setlist staples, alongside ‘Hell on Earth’ from the ‘Senjutsu’ album. ‘Fear of the Dark’ has led the way for a skeletal bogeyman named Eddie to arrive on stilts, engaging in a pyrotechnic shootout with lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson.

Expect a performance of ‘Wasted Years’ and a balance of theatrics with genuine musical prowess, a testament to Iron Maiden’s enduring appeal. For fans and newcomers alike, witnessing Iron Maiden’s electrifying performances is not just a concert; it’s an immersive experience that transcends time, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who are fortunate enough to be part of the spectacle.

Iron Maiden’s legacy is woven into the fabric of metal history

Formed in 1975, the band’s distinctive sound, characterised by the galloping bass lines of Steve Harris, the powerful guitar harmonies, and Bruce Dickinson’s operatic vocals, has become the very essence of heavy metal.

The band’s lyrics are no less profound, delving into themes of literature, history, and mythology. Tracks like ‘The Trooper’ and ‘Run to the Hills’ have become anthems, etching their mark on the collective consciousness of metal enthusiasts. The artistic depth of their music challenges listeners, encouraging them to explore the nuances of their craft. Iron Maiden’s influence extends far beyond their albums and concerts. With over 100 million albums sold, they stand tall as one of the best-selling bands in history.
