Tamil rapper and activist Arivu has carved out a distinct space in the South Asian independent music scene, blending hip-hop with Carnatic influences, folk traditions, and sharp social commentary. His music engages directly with caste, identity, and political resistance, drawing on Dalit rights discourse in ways that feel both deeply rooted and urgently contemporary.

Arivu first gained widespread attention through his association with the collective Casteless Collective, a project that brought together musicians committed to using music as a vehicle for social change.
