About
An English rock band formed in Manchester in 1982, recognized as one of the most enduring and creatively eclectic fixtures of the British alternative rock movement. Led by the distinctively expressive vocals and enigmatic stage presence of frontman Tim Booth, the band has sold over 25 million albums globally. Over a career spanning more than four decades, they successfully evolved from early indie-pop roots into alternative anthems, experimental art-rock with legendary producer Brian Eno, and a late-career commercial resurgence.
